| I just recently moved but where I used to live "in Corona CA" my two favorites were Lake Elsinore Casino and Pechanga. Now I live just a few hours from Vegas so if you still call that local my favorite there is Bellagio, even though with the move and everything I haven't been able to go yet. So anyway just post your favorite local card room in this thread. | |

| In the Orange County area, there is a good casino for poker called Hawaiin Gardens Casino. Love all the tables for all sorts of limits. They also have regular sit-n-gos and blackjack and asian table games. There is also an Indian casino in Central California called tachi Palace that has an excellent poker room as well as table games and slots galore. Vegas is only a few short hours away, and as we all know...there is no better gambling in the world... | |

| Hawaiin Gardens is pretty nice for a small card club. You don't go to Commerce, Bike or Hustler at all? - KEVINfromHB wrote:

| I live in Houston and don't have access to a live room locally. The nearest poker rooms are in Lake Charles, LA, about 2 hours drive away. My favorite live room is at the Bellagio in Vegas. It has the best action for the games I play and it's a beautiful hotel. | |

| Thats to bad you don't have a card room closer than two hours away but The Bellagio is a great casino and they do have one of the best poker rooms around. - TexMexMan wrote:

| Last week I returned home from 4 day trip to Vegas - Thursday through Monday at the Bellagio. The trip was good, as I won enough to pay for my trip and then some. I'm a 30-60 limit hold 'em player who also played some 15-30 hold 'em while I was there.
The poker room at the Bellagio was busy. The level of play varied wildly. Sometimes, I was at tables where the play was tight and very sound, with none of the players making any obvious, exploitable mistakes. At other times, the play was truly awful. For example, one opponent was in a pot heads up with me with 66. I had AA. He peeled on a flop KQ4, spiked a 6 on the turn and cracked my aces. Other examples of awful play include players who raised in early position with Q8o and drawing to backdoor gutshot straight draws in small pots.
I also played in a couple of nightly $150 NL hold 'em tournaments at Caesars. The play was reasonably good and most of the players seemed to be locals.
Overall, my sense of Vegas is that it is much busier than it was last year, when it was deader than I'd ever seen it in the 20+ years I've been going. Having said that, it is not nearly as busy as it was 3 years ago when the economy was still healthy. The city and state are still having a tough time, and I think it will be awhile until the city fully recovers. However, it's still a great place to play poker and I look forward to my next visit. | |

| Thanks for the welcome. I highly recommend going to the Bellagio. You can call the Poker Room at 702-693-7291 to get a player's rate if you want to stay there. I think you have to agree to give them at least 6 hours of action per day. They don't have small buy in tournaments. During the week, I think the buy-in is $330 or so. On weekends, the buy-in is around $540. Even if you don't stay there, you should check it out. It is a beautiful hotel. | |

| I used to play a bit at the Harrahs in PHX, but I no longer live in the area and too short on cash to play live rooms. I loved to play during the Aces cracked promotions. | |
