Does anyone have any stats or something on the number of online poker players for sites like poker stars or full tilt? I talked to a guy who said poker is dying and it's not going to be
casino-reviews

to play it in 5+ years from now. Is there any truth to this statement?

i'm a bit of a late bloomer and i'm personally finding the game exhilerating and i'm having a lot of fun learning about strategy/hand theory/etc. but it's kind of disheartening to hear from someone who plays a lot of poker to say that it's dying.

Also sorry for two threads in one day, just had to get this one off my chest Razz

First off, feel free to post as many threads as you like, its not a problem and we actually encourage you to post more often.

As for your question, poker is definitely not dying but the numbers have always been up and down a bit throught the years.

The annual traffic rates back in 2009 showed a 35% growth while 2010 showed a 4% decllne. 2011 has shown the biggest decline of 22% so far this year but that is only due to the Black Friday idictments. All in all, I'd say the overall traffic really depends on when/if the U.S. decides to start licensing and regulating online poker since we cover most the market share but it will always be porfitable.

Heres the currents traffic stats per site and if your interested in following it I'd suggest going to pokersout.com.
